Let's go to the movies!

I was so thrilled when my photographer, Rachel Priddy, suggested a movie theatre for my engagement shoot. My fiance and I spent the majority of our first 2 years together at the movies, every weekend. Our first date was to see Garden State at the Harkins Camelview, the same place he put my ring around a soda straw and proposed to me 4 years later.

I really love fun, creative engagement shoots. I'm not that great at posing but really like being silly for pictures. This idea just got me so excited!

After our meeting with Rachel, I immediately ran home and googled movie theatre engagements and found these great photos from Melissa Jill Photography and f8studio.

Now don't think it's a simple task to have photos taken in a theatre. Our original plan was to just get kicked out but we decided to go the more "adult" route and call the theatre to ask permission. They then directed us to the corporate HQ who gave us permission but then had to have the theatre call us back with arrangements. WHEW, quite a feat but at least it won't be as stressful as us having to shoot and run! The downside....waking up REALLY early in the morning and trying to look beautiful :)

My next great idea...incorporating scrabble into my photos!
