The weekend of October 25, Carson Gardner and Robert Bailey were married at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. I had the pleasure of working on the bridal shower invitations as well as some of the poker themed accessories for their big day.
The shower took place at Olive and Ivy, a restaurant on the Scottsdale Waterfront in Scottsdale, AZ. The theme - Breakfast at Tiffany's.
You're invited to a party, dahling....
The white satin bow and rhinestone bling really made these invites a hit. The bride told me she got several calls from guests raving over them. They really set the tone for the rest of the shower. To top off this bride to be's special day, guests enjoyed a Tiffany box cake from Simply Sweets in North Phoenix, AZ while watching Breakfast at Tiffany's on the big screen.
Now on to the wedding accessories...
The bride and groom wanted to tie in the vegas theme but without being too cliche. Also being BIG Arizona State Sun Devils football fans, they wanted to incorporate something that represented the Sun Devils but without it being so in your face.
The first project was escort cards. I created these poker sized playing cards in pink and brown tones with the Arizona State Sun Devil pitchfork patterned on the back. I was so excited about the final outcome of the cards. They really had the feeling of a real playing card. The cards on the tables were an oversized version of the escort cards.
I also created the tags for these gable boxes. The Four Seasons offers a donut station which also served as favors for the guests. Each box was filled with a variety of warm, fresh donuts.
Everything pulled together very nicely and the wedding planner loved the creativity. He said he hadn't seen anyone use the playing cards for escort cards and thought it was a great idea!
